Prayer and Promises

Many of us don’t like our own words being repeated back to us; “You said…” often leads to criticisms, corrections, or reminders of failure. But there is One whose words are as pure as silver refined seven times over (Ps. 12:6), who delights to hear His words and promises repeated back to Him because they are so treasured and trusted by the one reminding Him of them. Those prayers we pray that delight the heart of God are the ones that pray according to His Promises. His promises can and should have the most prominent place in our prayer life because Jesus is the “Yes” and “Amen.”

Prayer and Withness

Do you feel far from God? Does it seem He’s out of reach or not paying attention? One promise God has made is “When you seek me, you WILL find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13), elsewhere said, "Draw near to God, and he WILL draw near to you” (James 4:8). Prayer and Fasting

To start this New Year off rightly, we are dedicating ourselves to a season of prayer and fasting, hungering for faithfulness to and fruitfulness in our mission to LOVE GOD, LOVE PEOPLE, and MAKE DISCIPLES. Under the Pruning Knife of the Father

In this fallen world, branches than remain in the vine still have the capacity to grow in areas that are unnecessary, unhelpful, or unhealthy, and can hinder the growth of healthy and planned fruit. The only hope for the branch to remain and grow in fruitfulness: the pruning knife of the Gardener.

What are you attempting to gain life from? We look down so many avenues, “try out” so many solutions, and connect to so many outlets that the world holds out to us shouting “Here’s life” when all it offers leaves us withering and fruitless. There is only one source of life that will last forever, one way that will catch you up in something and Someone much greater than your own existence, one power that will energize a life of fruitful significance. Jesus is the True Vine.
