As we have focused this year on the part of our mission in "Loving People" and Pastor Scott coming out of a series in Search and Rescue, commissioning us to go, we are waging war for the kingdom and the enemy is too. We need to stand but can only do so on the foundation of Jesus.

As we prepared our hearts through the worshiping of King Jesus, we heard from members of our church on how God is using them to bring the good news of Jesus to those around them.

The war is over, King Jesus has won, and absolute amnesty is available to anyone, anywhere. Yet millions still live in the dark because they haven't heard the declaration of peace. The finished work of Jesus doesn't eliminate the need for a messenger—it creates an urgent demand for beautiful feet to run with the Good News. Will you go?

The modern world tells us that faith is something we define for ourselves based on how it makes us feel. But the apostles didn't invite people to join a club; they invited them to align their lives with a historical, physical reality: Jesus, the Christ. When we realize the Gospel isn't a subjective preference but objective truths, evangelism ceases to feel like an awkward imposition and becomes an act of essential rescue.

Satan is described in the Bible as a lion who seeks to devour you. At the same time, Jesus is described in the Bible as a Shepherd who means to keep you.

We are not just human beings, we are "human becomings" in the sense that we all learn from someone or something. Christ calls us to learn, walk, and become like Him in ALL areas of life.

Rescuing someone from drowning is a single event; teaching them to swim is a lifelong relationship. Too often, we treat salvation like a finish line when it is actually the starting blocks of spiritual maturity. This Sunday, we'll examine why the church's true mission doesn't end at the rescue—it's exactly where it begins.

What happens when the person missing in the stormy sea isn't someone from another ship, but is one of our own? While we are tasked with reaching a lost world, the Church is equally responsible for launching a rescue mission for the brother or sister who has drifted from the faith. Discover our urgent calling to bring them home.

Too often in evangelism, we accidentally become a regulatory committee rather than a rescue team by telling people to fix their behavior before they can follow Jesus. But true rescue doesn't mean throwing a rulebook to a drowning person; it means throwing them a lifeline. The real message of Jesus frees us from the trap of "sin management" and invites us into an inside-out transformation that we could never achieve on our own.

You've heard the expression, "hurt people hurt people." The same is true for those whose lives have been transformed by Jesus; "changed people change people." We cannot effectively evangelize to those around us unless we have been changed by the gospel we proclaim.
